The Center for Military & Veteran Education at Excelsior College recently participated in VA Hospital Education Fairs in Bronx, New York, and Providence, Rhode Island.

Veterans and employees got a head start on their careers at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY during an education fair that was held at the facility in May.
At the event, director of veteran services and outreach Judy Reed spoke about Excelsior College’s liberal acceptance of military credits, and shared information about programs in business, health science, liberal arts, public service, and technology.
Also in attendance, program manager of the Veterans Bachelor of Science in Nursing (VBSN) Sarah Van Vorst discussed special support services available through the VBSN program, and Excelsior College’s various nursing degree and certificate programs. Nurses at this VA facility expressed great interest in our programs and a desire to utilize the hospital’s nursing degree scholarship program. The event was well attended.
Lt Col Bryant A. Murray Veterans Center director Carolyn Adamczyk visited the VA Medical Center in Providence, RI, in support of their education fair.
During the four hour event she connected with both hospital nurses and veterans visiting the facility to speak with them about Excelsior’s nursing and health sciences degrees and certificates, and veteran-related online courses and degrees criminal justice, nuclear power, and liberal arts.
Attendees who stopped by Adamczyk’s table also learned about the Lt Col Bryant A. Murray Veterans Center, veteran health and wellness resources, veteran funding opportunities, veteran mentorship programs, veteran career counseling, and veteran job search tools and strategies.
