The Social Sciences program has continued to expand over the past year, increasing program offerings in international and environmental courses in particular, while the phase-out of the sociology degree program has also begun. Interesting new courses have premiered, including Politics 390 The Rise of China and the Pacific Century; Politics 320 The Geopolitics of Energy and Global Climate Change; Politics 363 Order and Disorder in the Middle East and North Africa; and LA 498SS the capstone course for the Social Sciences degree. New courses are coming soon including: The Causes of War (POL 221, premier Spring 1, 2016); and Introduction to Counseling and Case Management (SOC 217, premier Summer 1, 2016). The three concentrations in the Social Sciences degree program (Human Services, Environmental Studies and International Relations) are being well-served with these curriculum improvements.
