Candice Ward is program director for the U.S. Sergeants Major Academy for the School of Public Service, and has been with Excelsior College since 2009. In addition to teaching face-to-face courses on-site, she also teaches online psychology courses for Excelsior, as well as El Paso Community College and Park University.
Ward has over 11 years teaching and course development experience, and previously worked in the legal field. During graduate school, she was a research team member at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, working in a rat laboratory, studying the effects of nicotine withdrawal and a nicotine vaccination. She holds an MA in psychology, and is currently enrolled in a psychology PhD program, with an emphasis in integrating technology, learning and psychology.
She is a native of El Paso, Texas, where she resides with her husband and three miniature dachshunds, which keep her empty nest syndrome at bay following her daughter’s departure for college. In her spare time she loves to cook and garden, and find a good horror story to read.
